First-crop sire Blue Point sired a new winner on Saturday, 27 May when his son Politico won well at Chester on his second career start. Fast away from the stalls, he was never headed, running out a three-and-a-half length winner.
Bred by Vimal & Gillian Khosla and a €63,000 yearling, Politico is the first foal of the Irish Stakes winner Servalan.
A wide-margin winner of the G2 Gimcrack Stakes as a juvenile, Blue Point went on to win four G1 sprints including three at Royal Ascot. Politico was his seventh individual winner which includes the impressive debutant scorers Keran, Action Point, On Point, Valour And Swagger and Blue Storm.
