Blue Point, Europe’s leading first-season sire, had his fourth individual Stakes winner on Saturday, 2 September when Shady Lady won at Craon in France. Running in the Listed Prix du Haras de Bouquotot, she was held up early in the 1650M contest, before coming wide in the straight to record a three-quarters-of-a-length success.

She has now won two of her three starts after coming into today’s race on the back of a victory at Compiegne.
Bred by S.C.E.A. Marmion Vauville and A Jathiere, Shady Lady is a daughter of the winning Tobougg mare Akrivi, who is a half-sister to top-class juvenile Dutch Art.
Blue Point has sired 31 individual winners in his first season including Stakes winners Big Evs, Action Point and the unbeaten Rosallion. Earlier in the afternoon, Politico won his second race at Chester when defying a penalty in their seven furlong Novice.
