Former dual G1 winner Brazen Beau added to his impressive record at stud when he sired Stakes winners in two Australian states on Saturday, 8 April.
Talented sprinting mare Zapateo won her fifth Black-Type race for Godolphin head trainer James Cummings when she scored in the G2 Sapphire Stakes over 1,200m at Royal Randwick in Sydney.
Out of the Stakes-winning Australian mare Jerezana, the four-year-old improved her record to seven wins and four placings from 16 starts for prize money and bonuses of $863,550 when easily beating Never Talk and Princess Grace.
At Oakbank in South Australia, Jessica Eaton brought Taunting with a well-timed run wide on the track to win the Listed Railway Stakes (1,100m), beating Gaze Grise by three-quarters of a length with Rich Gina another two lengths away win third place.
It was Taunting’s first Black-Type win and the four-year-old gelding’s fifth win, with three placings from 12 starts for trainer Michael Hickmott.
His dam, Probationary has a weanling colt by Brazen Beau - who won the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes in 2014 and the G1 Newmarket Handicap at Flemington the year after during his brilliant 12-start career.
Zapateo and Taunting joined Exploring and Belsielle as Stakes winners for Brazen Beau in Australia in recent months.
The sire already has 24 Stakes-race winners of 37 Black-Type races and his progeny have now won 645 races worldwide.
Brazen Beau had lots sell up to $300,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale at Oaklands in Melbourne last month.
