Speedy Brazen Beau two-year-old Bold Bastille won her fourth race from just five starts when she led all the way on Saturday, 13 April to win the $250,000 VOBIS Gold Rush at Bendigo.
A winner at Moonee Valley, Flemington and Caulfield in Stakes grade before Saturday, Bold Bastille never looked in danger with Luke Currie in the saddle as she sped over the 1,000m in a slick 57.34 seconds.
Linkvue was no match for the winner, finishing 2.25 lengths away, with Toroness a further 3.5 lengths Astern in third place.
Bred by Des Pope in Victoria, Bold Bastille was offered by Blue Gum Farm at Euroa at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale and bought by Lindsay Park Racing and Group 1 Bloodstock for $270,000.
With prize money and bonuses, the daughter of Exceed And Excel mare Chloe In Paris has now banked $741,550 under the care of co-trainers Ben, Will and J.D. Hayes at Flemington.
Brazen Beau won twice at G1 level and has now sired 293 winners of 815 races, including 26 Stakes winners of 44 Stakes races.
His high-class daughter, Zapateo (out of Jerezana), won her first G1 in The Galaxy at Rosehill Gardens on 23 March.
