Exceptional New Zealand youngster On The Bubbles bounced straight back to his best form on Saturday, 5 March when he easily won the Listed Mufhasa Stakes for three-year-olds over 1,400m at Ellerslie racetrack in Auckland.
The Brazen Beau gelding, out of Australian mare More Bubbles, peeled off the leaders’ heels at the 450m mark and sprinted to the lead before holding off I Wish I Win and Bonny Lass for jockey Johnathan Parkes and leading trainer Jamie Richards.
After missing a place for the first time in the Karaka 3YO Magic Millions (1,600m) in late January, the G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes winner responded in style to win his fourth Stakes race and take his record to six wins and three placings from 10 starts for prize money of NZ$823,985.
On The Bubbles was offered by Burnewang North Pastoral at the 2019 Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale and sold to Ben Kwok. He was then on-sold by Leanach Lodge Ltd to David Ellis at the 2020 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale.
