Darley stallions made a sweep of Saturday’s Blue Diamond Preludes at Caulfield with General Beau giving Brazen Beau success in G3 colts and geldings’ division and Arcaded, a daughter of Street Boss claiming the G2 prelude for fillies.
For both two-year-olds, victory placed them among the leading prospects for the first G1 juvenile race of the Australian season, the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes later this month at Caulfield.
The win was General Beau’s third for the season and followed his success two weeks earlier at Listed level, also at Caulfield.
After jumping smartly, General Beau held a share of the lead from the start, taking a clear advantage at the 100m and then holding off the powerful finish of Anamoe (Street Boss).
General Beau, who was bred by David and Jenny Moodie (Contract Racing) and Nick and Gayle Psaltis is one of Brazen Beau’s 11 Stakes winners.
Brazen Beau will stand the coming southern hemisphere breeding season at Northwood Park, Victoria.
