Brazen Beau was the sire of two Stakes winners on Saturday, 1 April when his daughters Vadream and Astral Beau put up impressive performances to land the two Stakes races on offer at Doncaster, the opening day of the flat season.
The six-furlong Listed Cammidge Stakes was won by Vadream, a five-year-old mare trained by Charlie Fellowes. Sitting mid-field until the halfway point, Vadream then quickly took up the lead with two furlongs to run and pulled away from the rest of the field for an easy four-and-a-half length win.
Vadream was bred by Crispin Estates Ltd, she is out of the Shamardal mare Her Honour, herself a half-sister to Australian G2 winner, Swashbuckling.
Later in the card Astral Beau, trained by Pam Sly made easy work of her first appearance in Stakes company. She travelled well throughout, clearly having the upper hand with two furlongs to run she was then ridden out to go clear to win the Listed Doncaster Mile Stakes by a comfortable four lengths.
Astral Beau who was bred by Family Sly, is the third foal out of the winning Sea The Stars mare, Asteroidea, who is the daughter of G1 1000 Guineas heroine and Champion Older Female in Ireland, Speciosa.
Brazen Beau, a Champion three-year-old in Australia, is the sire of 36 Stakes horses globally. They include G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes hero On The Bubbles, multiple G2 winner Pretty Brazen, The Ridler who won the G2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and multiple Italian Listed winner New Collection.
