Quality Easter offerings from Brazen Beau and Shooting To Win
Darley freshmen stallions create strong interest at Australia’s leading sale
The bright starts made by Darley’s freshman stallions Brazen Beau(pictured) and Shooting To Winlook certain to continue at the yearling sale that traditionally sets the standard in Australia.
Both stallions are well-represented at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale commencing in Sydney on Monday 9 April with Shooting To Win’s colt from a half-sister to outstanding young sprinter Merchant Navy among the more intriguing offerings.
Brazen Beau, already a sale-topping stallion in Australia this year, is well-represented by a quality selection, including a half-brother to the Stakes-winner Charmed Harmony from a family that includes the G1 Golden Slipper winner Overreach consigned by Yarraman Park Stud as Lot 216 (pictured below).

For both Shooting To Win and Brazen Beau the local sales season has produced results that place them among the leading first-crop stallions in the country.
And the signs are all positive that their status will be confirmed at the first Easter Sale to be held at Inglis’ Riverside Stables.
On pedigree, and recent racetrack form, Shooting To Win’s colt from Maroon Bay, catalogued as Lot 225 (pictured below) and offered by Emirates Park Stud, shapes as one of the stars of the sale.

Maroon Bay, is by Darley’s star international sire Exceed And Excel, from the Snippets mare Legally Bay, a dual Stakes-winner from an outstanding family that includes her G1-winning half-sister Bonaria.
But it is as the mother of Merchant Navy that Legally Bay is best-credentialed.
The winner of five of his six races, including the G1 Coolmore Stud Stakes, the son of Fastnet Rock is the subject of a recent eight-figure sale deal that is to take him to Royal Ascot this year.
Also prominent among Shooting To Win’s 12, Book One Easter yearlings is Lot 354, a colt consigned by Kia Ora Stud and from the Stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare She’s A Fox who is a sister to the G1 winner and sire Foxwedge.
As well as his half-brother to Charmed Harmony, Brazen Beau has Lot 297 (pictured below), a filly from the Encosta De Lago mare Pretty Penny whose five winners from five to race include the prolific Australian Stakes-winner Sertorius and the G3 winners Dollar For Dollar and Clifton Red.
