Brazen Beau’s place among the elite bracket of Australian stallions gained further confirmation with yet another high-priced purchase at Tuesday’s session of the Inglis Classic Yearling sale in Sydney.
Having topped the sale at $550,000 with his colt from the Dubawi mare Pouter during the morning, Brazen Beau started the afternoon with the sale of Lot 666, a colt from the Commands mare Rose Of Hallowell.
A member of the Aquis Farm consignment, the striking brown colt prompted a concerted bidding battle that was eventually won by Victorian Farm Laceby Lodge with a bid of $480,000.
The colt’s dam is a sister to multiple Stakes winner Court Command.
Interest in Brazen Beau’s second crop has been fuelled by an initial group that includes some of the best two-year-olds seen in Australia this season, including the G1 Golden Slipper favourite Tassort and the Stakes winner Accession.
Brazen Beau topped last year’s Classic Sale and seems bound to go close again.
