Exceed And Excel fillies claim awards
Star Exceed And Excel fillies Guelph and Earthquake were honoured with awards at the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association annual dinner at Scone Race Club, May 14.
A four-time G1 winner throughout her stellar career, Guelph was crowned Champion three-year-old filly following her victories during the season in the G1 Thousand Guineas and G1 Flight Stakes.
Exceed And Excel’s juvenile daughter Earthquake was also recognised for her outstanding season on the track where she won four of her five starts, claiming the Champion two-year-old filly award.
A Randwick winner on debut in November, Earthquake claimed the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude at her second start before a brilliant win in the G1 Blue Diamond. She then claimed the G2 Reisling Stakes in Sydney before finishing a gallant runner-up on a heavy track in the G1 Golden Slipper.
Exceed And Excel is standing the coming breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST.
