Micromanage takes charge in G3 Skip Away

Medaglia d'Oro colt wins well at Gulfstream

Four-year-old Micromanage, by Medaglia d'Oro, was the one to beat March 29 as the colt recorded his first Graded Stakes victory in the G3 Skip Away Stakes at Gulfstream Park.

In the 1900m event Javier Castellano positioned Micromanage off the pace in third. In to the turn the colt began gaining ground and quickened in the stretch to take over the lead and come away a winner.

Bred by Fiona Craig and Dermot Cantillon, Micromanage is out of multiple Stakes winner Catnip, a half-sister to Champion Hold That Tiger and Classic winner Editor's Note. The mare has also produced multiple Graded Stakes winner Indescribable and Stakes winner Elaflaak. Micromanage has won or placed in seven Black type races, including a win in the Long Branch Stakes and a third place effort in the G1 Haskell Invitational at three.

Medaglia d'Oro is now the sire of 28 Graded or Group winners, among them 10 G1 winners on all surfaces. These esteemed runners include Horse Of The Year Rachel Alexandra, G1 CashCall Futurity winner Violence, and G1-winning turf mare Marketing Mix.

Medaglia d'Oro's oldest Australian-bred progeny are two-year-olds and among his three winners are Flemington victor Nostradamus and Matilija, a winner on debut at Moonee Valley.
