Exceed And Excel gelding has speed to burn

Planet Voyage leads all the way to become the 71st Stakes winner for his sire

Having been Stakes placed at his first career start in the Listed Debutants Stakes behind Commands colt Jimando, Exceed And Excel three-year-old Planet Voyage has been a model of consistency throughout his career and deservedly won his first Stakes race on 18 May, winning the Listed Mahini Classic over 1000m at Morphettville.

Jumping straight to the lead from barrier three, the Peter Moody-trained gelding never allowed another horse to pass him, fighting the whole way down the home straight to record his fifth career win and become the 71st Stakes winner for his sire.

Enjoying a stellar season in Australia, Exceed And Excel has sired the winners of not only the Two-year-old Triple Crown with Overreach and Guelph, but has been represented by Aerobatics, Camporella, Kulgrinda, Just Discreet and Sidestep, to name but a few.

Bred by Gooree Park Stud Pty Ltd, Planet Voyage is out of the G3 Breeders Classic Stakes winner Pasikatera, a three-quarter sister to the dual G1 winner Tempest Morn.

As the sire of 71 Stakes winners highlighted by six G1 winners; Guelph, Overreach, Margot Did, Excelebration, Reward For Effort and Darley stallion Helmet, Exceed And Excel will stand the forthcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $88,000 (inc. GST), while Helmet will stand at Northwood Park for a fee of $33,00 (inc. GST).
