Consistent Street Boss (US) galloper Another Wil lifted to another level first-up when ran down weight-for-age king Mr Brightside to win the G1 C.F. Orr Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, 8 February.
The triple Stakes-race winner settled in fourth place to the home turn for jockey Jamie Melham and then proved too strong in the final 50m to claim his first victory at the highest level.
Steparty was no match for Another Wil and Mr Brightside, finishing 4.5 lengths away in third place.
Five-year-old gelding Another Wil, bred by Mrs J. Thomson out of the Australian mare Arohanui, took his record to nine wins plus three placings from 14 starts under Cranbourne trainer Ciaron Maher.
Street Boss has sired 987 winners worldwide, including 77 individual Stakes-race winners of 155 Black-Type events.
