Commands brings up 54th Stakes winner

Three-year-old filly Nona In Command wins Listed race in South Africa.

Only a few days after Commands three-year-old Saluter took out the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas on the Gold Coast, another runner from the same crop, this time a filly named Nona In Command, stormed to victory to take out the Listed Swallow Stakes over 1160m at Turffontein, South Africa.

A winner of two races, with a further three places from nine starts, the Alex Laird-trained filly was purchased at the Magic Millions yearling sale by World Wide Bloodstock for only $40,0000.

Bred by Kitchwin Hills, Mr M Brown and Mr M Malone, Nona In Command is out of the High Yield mare Bashaayer, a half-sister to the G3 placegetter Chinamora, and from the family of South African G1 winner and Champion Sprinter Laisserfaire, as well as Darley’s first-season sire Time Thief.

Time Thief will be represented by seven yearlings at this week’s Inglis Classic yearling sale, while Commands will be represented by 15 yearlings at the Inglis Premier yearling sale, set to commence on 2 March.
