Time Thief heads Adelaide Magic Millions

First-crop sire Time Thief leads the first-season sire table in Adelaide

With three yearlings catalogued during the main session of the sale, Redouete’s Choice’s Listed-winning, multiple G1 placed son Time Thief had three yearlings sell at an average of just over $62,000 with a top priced lot of $90,000.

Consigned by Robyn Wise as agent, lot 61 was a Time Thief colt out of the Danzero mare Zandero, the dam of two winners from three foals to race. From the family of Stakes winners Light Sweeper, Heat Of The Moment, Urban Groove and Wasted Emotion, this colt has a close up duplication, being by a grand-son of Danehill out of a grand-daughter of that very same stallion. Knocked down for $90,000, the colt was purchased by Premier Racing Partnerships in Singapore.

Another Time Thief yearling to sell very well was lot 81 from the draft of Eliza Park Stud as agent. Out of the Jeune mare Babieta, the chestnut colt is a half-brother to the multiple Stakes placed Xaieta and comes from the family of G3 winners Count Scenario and Dashing Scene. Victorian-based Robbie Laing signed the ticket for this colt, parting ways with $70,000.

Another Darley stallion to sell well at the sale was New Approach, who ended the session with the equal third highest priced lot. Offered as lot 237 from the draft of Balcrest Stud, the chestnut colt is out of the dual Listed winner Pipkin from the family of current Stakes winner Lady Melksham, a winner of the G3 Cockram Stakes and was knocked down to David Jolly for $100,000.

The yearling sale series heads to the Inglis Easter yearling sale next, with that sal set to commence on 9 April.
