All-the-way win for son of Exceed And Excel

Wild Geese wins Queen Elizabeth Cup in Singapore

Exceed And Excel five-year-old Wild Geese (registered as Curia Regis) became the 82nd Stakes winner for his sire with an all-the-way win in the Queen Elizabeth Cup (a local G2 event) in Singapore, April 27.

Ridden positively out of the barriers, Wild Geese assumed control of the 2000m race early and was never headed, fighting off several challengers in the straight to win by half-a-length.

Bred by Darley, Wild Geese is out of Machiavellian mare Court Lane, dam of G1 Middle Park Stakes runner-up Holborn.

Australia's reigning Champion stallion and the sire of nine G1 winners, Exceed And Excel will stand the coming breeding season at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST, while his triple G1-winning son Helmet and his G2-winning son Kuroshio will stand at Northwood Park at $33,000 inc. GST and $8,800 inc. GST respectively.
