Authorized sired his seventh individual winner on Saturday October 29, when his son Toruk Macto landed the spoils in Turkey at Ankara racecourse. Making his second career start in this 1200m turf contest, he swept down the outside in the straight to win with considerable ease.
Bred by Tinnakill Bloodstock and Alan Byrne, he was sold as a foal for €42,000 and is out of the Gone West mare Mythical Girl, a three-time winner including the G3 Princess Margaret Stakes as a juvenile. Mythical Girl also has a yearling filly by Teofilo.
Authorized broke his Maiden in the G1 Racing Post Trophy as a juvenile before becoming Europe’s Champion three-year-old the following season when winning the Derby and International Stakes. Now sire of seven winners, he has a number of very promising individuals including the unbeaten pair Tamarrud and Witnessed and last weekends impressive Newbury scorer Estrela. In France, both Tenenbaum and Wintergreen showed immense potential when running places on their debuts.
