Harry Angel sired his fourth new winner of the week when Iconic Moment made a promising start to his career with victory over seven furlongs at Chelmsford on Saturday, 22 October.
Owned by Sultan Ali, the the two-year-old colt, who is trained by James Tate, was slowly away and settled three lengths of the way down the field, always travelling well under Tom Queally he came with a run down the centre of the track to hit the front inside the final furlong and although he swerved slightly he held on to win by three-quarters of a length.
Bred by Ennistown Stud, Iconic Moment is the first foal out of the unraced Iffraaj">Iffraaj mare, Purplest, herself a half-sister to Group-performer Taajub. She has a yearling filly by Night Of Thunder.
Iconic Moment rounded off a brilliant week for first season sire Harry Angel which saw him sire five winners including his first Stakes winner earlier in the day when his first Australian bred runner Arkansaw Kid won the Restricted Listed Banner Stakes at The Valley. On Monday Harry’s Halo become Harry Angel’s 20th individual winner, followed up on the same day with Proverb winning his second race, whilst Azure Angel broke her maiden in fine style at Newcastle on Friday. Harry Angel has now sired 23 individual winners.
Harry Angel stands at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the NSW Hunter Valley for a service fee of $16,500, including GST.
