Teofilo’s lightly raced four-year-old daughter Bloomfield gained her first valuable Stakes victory on Sunday, 15 April when landing the Listed Noblesse Stakes by a wide margin. Unraced as a juvenile, she made a winning debut in June last season before second placings in the Listed Naas Oaks Trial and the G3 Give Thanks Stakes at Cork.
Making her seasonal debut at the same track, she was always travelling well in the attritional conditions before asserting to beat Glamorous Approach (New Approach) by over four lengths.
Owned and bred by John Connaughton, Bloomfield is one of seven winners bred by the Desert King mare Ramona including the Group-winning filly Prima Luce. Ramona is a half-sister to top sprinter Cassandra Go, who herself has produced Classic winner Halfway To Heaven.
Bloomfield is one of 115 Stakes performers for her sire Teofilo including 14 that have won at the highest level. This year his evergreen son Happy Clapper has won both the G1 Doncaster Handicap and the G1 Canterbury Stakes, both at Randwick. He will be standing this coming season at Kelvinside, NSW at a fee of $44,000 Inc GST.
