Two winners in as many days for Poet’s Voice
Poet's Voice continued a successful week with his first crop of runners on 13 August when his son Bathos prevailed in a tremendous battle at Beverley to land the seven-furlong nursery.
Bowling along during the early stages under Joe Fanning, Bathos loomed up on the outside once entering the home straight and putting up a really gutsy performance, edged ahead of odds-on favourite and dual winner Dutch Heiress close to home and won by a neck.
Bred by Lofts Hall Stud and now trained by Mark Johnston, Bathos is out of the Stakes-winning mare Santolina (Boundary), herself a half sister to Group winner Trafalgar and G1 performer Etizaaz. They are from the family of Swain.
Poet’s Voice is also sire of Stakes-placed colt Voice Of Love, plus multiple winners Montsarrat, Whitman and Midnight Malibu.
