The brilliant start to the year made by Epaulette continued at Morphettville in Adelaide when She Shao Fly made all to score a narrow but game victory in Saturday’s G3 South Australian Sires’ Produce Stakes.
The two-year-old filly assumed control of the race from the jump and travelled well in front until challenged by her stablemate and runner-up Hinchpin.
She Shao Fly is one of six Epaulette two-year-old winners worldwide this season and adds to an impressive sequence of 52 individual winners for the son of Commands this year.
The overall list headed by the South African G1 winner Soqrat also includes the promising young staying types Rock Dove and Cossetot, along with 3YO Military Zone, and fillies Khulaasa and Meryl.
She Shao Fly becomes the seventh Stakes winner for Epaulette, a half-brother to Helmet, the sire of dual Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow.
Epaulette's dam Accessories has also produced the Stakes winners Pearls and Bullbars.
Epaulette will stand the coming southern hemisphere season at Kelvinside, NSW, at a fee of A$27,500, including GST.
