Witnessed, a first-crop daughter of Epsom Derby winner Authorized, became her sire’s second winner when landing a 1500m maiden by a length at her first racecourse appearance at Beverley on Saturday, August 27.
Bred by Darley, she is out of the Machiavellian mare Magic Mission, a G3 winner and G1 placed in the USA.
Authorized sired his first winner Tamarrud, also trained by Godolphin, earlier this month, the same day the Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained Everlong made an eye-catching debut to finish runner-up at Newmarket. She holds an entry for the G1 Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket in September, while Tamarrud may head to the G2 Beresford Stakes at the Curragh.
Authorized is standing the current southern hemipshere breeding season at Darley Kelvinside for a fee of $22,000 (inc GST).
