Park Express victory for Rehn’s Nest
Rehn’s Nest, a three-year-old daughter of Authorized, made a perfect seasonal debut on 24 March with a convincing victory in the G3 Park Express Stakes, run over 1600m at The Curragh in Ireland.
Always prominent under Rory Cleary, Rehn’s Nest stuck to her task in game fashion on the testing ground and won easily from odds-on favourite Yellow Rosebud.
Bred, owned and trained by Jim Bolger, Rehn’s Nest is the first foal to race out of the Galileo mare Solas Na Greine, whose half-sister Irish Question is dam of Teofilo’s G1-winning juvenile Loch Garman. Stakes-placed as a two-year-old, she is now likely to step up in class again and may be aimed at the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Irish Oaks.
Authorized is also sire of Stakes winner and G2 performer Tenenbaum, plus fellow Group performers Castello Aragonese and Mano Diao. Sugar Boy, from his second crop, rounded off a very successful juvenile campaign last year with a six-and-a-half-length victory in the Listed Eyrefield Stakes.
