The first to reach the winners enclosure was Bostar, who after a brace of seconds, won the valuable Tattersalls Norsk Kriterium at Overvoll in Norway. Bred by Newsells Park Stud and sold as a yearling for €61,000, he is a son of the Stakes-winning mare Snow Gretel (Green Desert) and a grandson of Champion mare Snow Princess.
Later in the day at Redcar, the Rabbah bred Beatbybeatbybeat was victorious in a a seven furlong maiden. Held up near the rear and a little keen early, she made stealthy headway to take up the running inside the final furlong to win cosily by a neck, with two-and-a-half lengths back to the third. This was her third start and she has improved for each and every run to date.
Her dam, the Medicean mare Beat As One, is a half-sister to two Stakes winners including G2-winning juvenile filly Sand Vixen (Dubawi).
Poet's Voice has now sired 10 individual winners including Stakes winner Whitman, multiple scorers Bathos and Montsarrat and impressive Italian filly Voice Of Love. He is standing the current season Kelvinside, NSW, at a fee of $11,000 inc. GST
