Poet’s Vanity, a ten-length maiden winner on her last start, took the step up into Group company in her stride on Friday 7 October when landing the G3 Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket. The daughter of Poet’s Voice broke alertly from the stalls and was always prominent under Oisin Murphy, and after making her challenge coming into the dip, ran on really well on the rise to the line to win by a length with Unforgetable Filly (Sepoy) gaining valuable Black-type back in third.
Bred by Panda Bloodstock & Trickledown Stud, Poet’s Vanity is one of six winners bred by the Thatching mare Vanity including Stakes winners Boastful and Lesson In Humility (dam of G2 juvenile Coach House).
Poet’s Voice is enjoying an excellent time with his current juveniles with Poet’s Vanity one of fifteen winners from his second crop. Eight of these have won on their last start and include Italian Stakes winner Mi Raccomando, three-time winner Poet’s Society and Maiden winners Hersigh and Phalaborwa.
Poet's Voice is standing this season at a fee of $11,000 with Sepoy at a fee of $33,000. Both are at Kelvinside, NSW.
