Impressive Rasmeyaa breaks her maiden in style
Rasmeyaa, who started her racing career with a third-place finish in the Listed Flame Of Tara Stakes, shed her maiden tag on her second start with an easy victory at Leopardstown in Ireland on Saturday.
The daughter of New Approach won the 1400m contest by five and a half lengths to become the 11th winner for the leading first-season sire.
Bred by Ennistown Stud from the Indian Ridge mare Posterity, Rasmeyaa is a half-sister to G3 Desmond Stakes winner Future Generation and she topped the Orby Sale at Goffs last year when selling for €350,000 to Shadwell.
New Approach is the leading first-season sire in Europe, with his three stakes winners including the unbeaten G1 Dewhurst Stakes hero and 2,000 Guineas favourite Dawn Approach. He stands at Northwood Park, Victoria, for $33,000 (inc. GST).
