First crop sire Harry Angel sired a new impressive winner on Monday, 29 August when his juvenile daughter Marine Wave easily won at Southwell. After a promising debut run at Ripon, the Richard Fahey-trained filly was more streetwise over the minimum trip and was not extended to win by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
Marine Wave is the second winner bred by the Kheleyf mare Ambiguous, who is a herself a half-sister to two G1-winning sprinters in Tangerine Trees and Alpha Delphini.
Champion sprinter Harry Angel has now sired 12 first-crop winners including the G2-placed colts Marshman and Vicious Harry. When running second in the G2 Gimcrack, Marshman put up the leading performance of any first season sire in Europe this season. Harry Angel is covering this season at a fee of $16,500 Inc. GST.
