Hitting the right note
Poet's Voice added a new winner to his record on 12 August when his son Vibrant Chords put up a tremendous performance to land the six-furlong maiden at Salisbury.
Beaten just a short head on his debut at the same course late last month, Henry Candy’s charge had clearly learned from this experience. Never far from the pace under James Doyle, Vibrant Chords was asked to quicken two furlongs from home and wore down the long-time leader Dark Shot in gusty fashion to take the lead close to home and win by half a length.
Vibrant Chords was bred by Moyns Park Estate and Stud Ltd and is out of the Stakes-placed Dubai Destination mare Lovely Thought, who has now produced two winners from two foals to race. The mare is a half-sister to two Stakes winners including G2 winner Just James.
Poet’s Voice is now sire of seven individual winners, headed by debut winner and Stakes-placed colt Voice Of Love.
