Poeta Diletto, from the first crop of Poet’s Voice, became his sires first Classic winner on Sunday 24 April when landing the one mile G3 Premio Parioli (Italian 2,000 Guineas) in Rome. A high-class G3-winning juvenile when narrowly beating his paternal half-brother Voice Of Love, he has now won three of his five career starts.
Poet's Voice emulates his sire Dubawi with a first-crop winner of the Italian 2,000 Guineas. Dubawi sired the 2010 winner Worthadd, who later went onto land the Italian Derby.
Bred by Scuderia Blueberry, Poeta Diletto is the second foal of the Stakes-winning mare Mia Diletta (Selkirk) and a half-brother to the Stakes-placed juvenile Mia Eccellenza (Exceed And Excel).
Poet’s Voice is the sire of four Stakes performers including the Ripon Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy winner Whitman, who holds a Group entry later this week at Ascot, and Ode To Evening, so narrowly touched off this month in the Listed International Trial Stakes at Lingfield.
He will be standing this coming season at a fee of $11,000 inc GST at Kelvinside, NSW.
