Harry Angel (IRE) continued the impressive start to his Southern Hemisphere stud career when the former World Champion Sprinter sired another two-year-old winner at Morphettville in Adelaide on Saturday, 10 December.
Speedy Shane Nichols-trained filly Angelique led all the way to win the G.H. Mumm Plate over 1,050m, beating Te Pani by 2.6 lengths with Kalasec another two lengths away in third place.
Angelique sprinted clear, running 33.36 seconds for her final 600m as she stopped the clock on a fast 1min 01.86sec.
Angelique was offered by Telemon Thoroughbreds at this year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and purchased by Shane Nichols Racing for $80,000.
Harry Angel has now had three runners in Australia for a Stakes winner, a city winner and a city placegetter.
Arkansaw Kid (out of Florabella) won the Restricted Listed Inglis Banner for two-year-olds over 1,000m at Moonee Valley in Melbourne on 22 October.
