The ultra-consistent Aichi claimed his fifth win and second Stakes victory when romping home three lengths clear in the Gosford Guineas on Thursday. Related (Elusive Quality) was third and Dorf Command (Commands) ran home for fourth.
A son of Strategic, Aichi, who won two from two as a juvenile, has enjoyed a highly successful three-year-old season, winning the G3 Danehill Rory’s Jester Stakes by a nose from the fellow Sheikh Mohammed-owned Time Thief at Flemington in September. He was also just touched off for second in the G3 Up And Coming Stakes and was runner-up in the G2 International Caulfield Sprint before finishing third in the G1 Newmarket on 7 March.
Bred by Woodlands Stud, Aichi is out of the Quest For Fame mare Nagoya, who currently has a colt foal by Commands.
