Reset tops first day of Magic Millions Adelaide

Colt by Derby-winning sire brings $105,000

A bay colt by Reset from the draft of Mill Park Stud was the star of the opening session of the Magic Millions sale in Adelaide on Monday. Passing through the ring as lot 113, the son of the Rory’s Jester mare Excitant was knocked down to trainer Mark Kavanagh for $105,000.

Reset was popular again on Tuesday when one of his daughters, out of the Listed winner Gift Bouquet and consigned by Tori Park Stud, was sold to Kim Harrison and Jon O’Connor for $80,000. The chestnut yearling is a half-sister to SAJC Adelaide Guineas hero Blahnik and Pewsey Vale Stakes winner Elysees.

Dubai Destination was also among the best-sellers on the second day when a filly out of Hip Hop (Success Express) was the selection of Greg McFarlane, who signed the ticket for $70,000 for the half-sister to Singspiel's six-time winner Tramuntana from the Caithness Breeding consignment.

A Cape Cross colt was among the top five sold on Monday when he fetched $42,000. Out of the eight-time winner Boston (Zoffany), the colt from the Attunga Stud draft is en route to Singapore after being purchased by Cliff Brown.
