Tiz Invincible showed she has the form and bloodlines to be favourite for the prestigious Darley Princess Series crown for three-year-old fillies after a convincing win last Saturday in the G2 Darley Furious Stakes over 1,200m at Royal Randwick.
A first-up winner of the Listed The Rosebud (1,100m) at Rosehill last month, Tiz Invincible franked the form by finishing too well for Kimochi and Mumbai Muse under apprentice jockey Zac Lloyd.
Tiz Invincible was bred by Phoenix Thoroughbred (11) Ltd who received a nomination to Shamardal's son Victor Ludorum, she is out of English mare Amuletum, a daughter of dual G1-winning former Darley stallion New Approach.
Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace at Warwick Farm, the filly was offered by Segenhoe Thoroughbreds Australia at last year’s Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and purchased for $550,000 by Ciaron Maher Racing, Eric Lucas and Astute Bloodstock.
Maher now heads a syndicate of owners, which also includes well-known racing enthusiasts John Simmons and Sue Fitzgerald.
Tiz Invincible only saluted by three-quarters of a length in 1 minute 9.96 seconds, but she powered to the line from behind the leaders and looked impressive.
“She’s just come on with each start,” Maher said.
Tiz Invincible missed the first leg of the Princess Series, the G2 Darley Silver Shadow Stakes, won by Autumn Ballet two weeks earlier who ensured her breeder - Arrowfield Pastoral Pty Ltd - took home a nomination to G1-winning first-season sire Paulele.
