Domesday filly claims Oaklands Plate

Cailin Miss becomes seventh Stakes winner for her sire

With the current crop of two-year-olds by Red Ransom’s G2 winner Domesday being his first Victorian-conceived crop, Cailin Miss became the sixth individual Stakes performer and second Stakes winner from that crop, winning the Listed Oaklands Plate over 1600m at Morphettville on May 3.

Trained at Caulfield by Mick Price, the filly was having only her second career start, winning the race impressively by two-and-a-quarter lengths from Royal Standing with a further three lengths to the third placed Light Up Manhattan.

Bred by Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm, Cailin Miss is the first runner and first winner out of the Mossman mare Partygoer, from the family of G1 winners Lyon Arms and Brewery Boy.

The sire of 16 Stakes performers highlighted by G1 winners Doctor Doom and Pressday, Domesday will stand the forthcoming breeding season at Darley’s Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc. GST).
