Transporter becomes the 56th

Commands gelding records his first black type victory

Jumping away the race favourite after some recent good form, five-year-old Commands gelding Transporter recorded his first Stakes victory, winning the Listed Greenslopes Emergency Members’ Quality over 1600m at Eagle Farm on 20 April.

Taking the event by a short nose from Topping, the gelding has been a model of consistency, winning eight from 20, with a further six placed performances.

Bred by Torryburn Stud, Transporter is out of the Sir Tristram mare Portrait Collector, a half-sister to G3 winners Equal Rights and Freedom Fields as well as Listed winner Adopted Hero. From the family of fellow Commands’ Stakes winner Kanzan, Transporter is the final foal to race for his dam who was recently retired.

As the sire of 56 Stakes winners, Commands has been enjoyed a terrific season highlighted by his triple G1-winning daughter Appearance, the G1 Thousand Guineas winner Commanding Jewel and the G1 Golden Rose winner Epaulette, who also finished a gallant second last time out to Black Caviar in the G1 Darley TJ Smith Stakes.
