New Approach ends the Inglis Premier yearling sale as a leading sires

As session one of the 2013 Inglis Premier yearling sale came to a close, the Darley stallions achieved positive results across the board, with New Approach ending the sale in second position on the sires' table based on averages.

Ending the main session of the sale with eight yearlings selling at an average of $162,812 and a top price of $310,000, the demand for the progeny of New Approach was clearly evident.

First-season sire Medaglia d'Oro only had two yearlings catalogued during the sale with both selling on the third day, achieving an overall average of $155,000, with his top priced lot being purchased by Arrowfield Stud for $210,000.

Teofilo, Lonhro and Hard Spun also sold very well, with all three stallions averaging over $100,000 per yearling they had sell.

On the final day of the sale, lot 455, an Exceed And Excel filly was knocked down to Gai Waterhouse and James Harron Bloodstock for $220,000, which saw the stallion achieve an overall average of $94,500 for the 15 yearlings he had sell.

The sales season now moves to the Inglis Easter yearling sale in Apri.
