Speedy Leo too classy in the Lisboa Prelude

Nadeem gelding becomes the third Stakes winner for his G1-winning sire

Making his racetrack debut, three-year-old Nadeem gelding Speedy Leo proved to classy for his rivals, taking out the Listed Lisboa Prelude over 1100m in Macau on February 19, winning by a length.

Bred by Mrs Catherine Remond, Speedy Leo is out of the Snippets mare Leonina, herself a daughter of the G3 performer Frisky Lady. From the family of Stakes winners Force Apollo, Catriona, Graceful Anna (Canny Lad), Prince Rubiton, News Alert, Siranto and Golden Slipper winner Star Watch, Speedy Leo is the third Stakes winner for his sire, the G1-winning son of Redoute’s Choice.

Speedy Leo joins dual G3-winning filly Triple Asset, Listed winner Specter and the G1 Thousand Guineas placegetter Sharnee Rose as the flag bearers for their sire.

Currently the leading season-season sire on winners, having achieved 19 individual winners in Australia so far this season, four clear of his nearest rival, Nadeem will be represented by three yearlings at the forthcoming Inglis Premier yearling sale which is set to commence on February 27.
