Sentiero Italia sails in G2 Lake Placid Stakes

Golden Saratoga meet for Medaglia d'Oro

Medaglia d'Oro continues to shine at the 2015 Saratoga meet, adding a 12th winner on August 14 as daughter Sentiero Italia stole the show in the G2 Lake Placid Stakes. The filly became the 13th 2015 Graded or Group winner in what has already been an outstanding year for her sire.

In the 1800m turf race Sentiero Italia patiently travelled off the pace along the backstretch. Turning for home the filly swung four-wide, making her bid in the final furlong before clearing away in the final strides to prove best.

Out of the winning Cadeaux Genereux mare Golden Way, the three-year-old filly is a half-sister to G1 Citation Handicap and multiple Graded Stakes winner Ashkal Way and was bred by Darley.

Sentiero Italia is the 23rd Stakes winner for Medaglia d'Oro in 2015, among them G1 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver and G1 Gulfsteam Park Turf Handicap winner Mshawish.

Medaglia d'Oro is standing this season at Kelvinside at a fee of $110,000 inc. GST.
