Sea Lord commands at Rosehill

Three-year-old Street Cry colt Sea Lord becomes the twelfth southern hemisphere Stakes winner for his sire, taking the Listed Darby Munro Stakes at Rosehill

G3 placed last Spring in the Up And Coming Stakes behind Canny Lad colt Blackball, the David Payne-trained Sea Lord (Street Cry) was always handy in running behind the flying Commandsfilly Palomares, before proving too strong in the straight, with Palomares fighting on strongly to secure second.

Bred by Mr Newman, Sea Lord is the first foal of Dream Well mare Dream Lass, a half-sister to three stakes winners headlined by the G2-winning, G1 placed Vigor.

Sire of the sensational 2010 US Horse of The Year in Zenyatta (recently announced as being in foal to Darley's very own Bernardini), Street Sense and Street Boss, Street Cry is a world-class sire with 12 individual G1 winners to his credit amongst 46 Stakes winners globally.

In Australia, Street Cry covered the likes of G1 winners Miss Finland, Elegant Fashion, Mnemosyne, Black Mamba, Love To Dance, Piavonic, Private Steer and Rewaaya during his last southern hemisphere breeding season and Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy has already been booked in for the upcoming breeding season.
