Shooting To Win to stand at Kelvinside in 2015

Darley in Australia has acquired G1 Caulfield Guineas hero Shooting To Win who will join the stallion roster at Kelvinside in the Hunter Valley for the 2015 breeding season.

The striking son of Northern Meteor was undefeated as a two-year-old and graduated to the elite level in the spring of his three-year-old year with a fast-finishing third in the G1 Golden Rose behind fellow Darley stallion Hallowed Crown. At his following start Shooting To Win stormed to a three-length victory over a high-class field in the G2 Stan Fox Stakes.

Shooting To Win then took on the best of his generation in the Caulfield Guineas, one of Australia’s signature stallion-making races. Once again his finishing burst proved too powerful for his rivals as he swept past Rich Enuff in the concluding stages to win, with subsequent G1 winner Wandjina back in third.

He retires as the highest-rated son of Northern Meteor, who left an indelible mark on the Australian breeding industry in his short time at stud.

Alastair Pulford, Darley’s Head of Sales in Australia said, “To say we are absolutely delighted to have secured Shooting To Win as a stallion prospect is an understatement.

“The trio of Brazen Beau, Hallowed Crown and now Shooting To Win enables us to offer breeders the best group of three-year-old colts to retire to stud we could possibly hope for.”

Pulford continued, “People who come to see Shooting To Win will be staggered by his physique. He is, to my mind, a commercial breeder’s dream. An awesome looking son of a great stallion who lived up to all expectations.”

Shooting To Win will stand at a fee of $38,500 inc. GST.
