Foaled at Darley Woodlands on August 20, the similarly marked filly (pictured), is a full-sister to last season’s G1 Golden Rose winner Denman. Out of the winning Vain mare Peach, the filly is also a half-sister to the G1 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Preserve (Canny Lad) and the multiple Stakes winner Rio Osa (Canny Lad).
A thrilling winner of nine of his 12 starts, Denman captured the imagination of Australian racing enthusiasts last season with his striking resemblance in looks and ability to that of his Champion father Lonhro.
One of 17 individual Stakes winners for his 11-time G1-winning sire, Denman’s race track ability has been further acknowledged by a nomination for Champion three-year-old colt at the upcoming Australian Horse of the Year awards.
Almost 12-months to the day since capturing his career-defining victory, Denman has come full circle as he is now set to embark on his first season at stud along side his Champion sire.
Assured to cover an outstanding line up of mares from his Darley Kelvinside base, Denman will make his first public appearance this coming weekend since leaving quarantine, when paraded for clients at Kelvinside.
Although only early into the new racing season, Lonhro currently leads the general sires table as well as having sired twice as many Stakes winners so far this season than any other stallion.
Lonhro will cover his seventh book of mares at a fee of $88,000 including GST which includes none other than the triple G1 Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva as well as a host of other Stakes winners and producers.
A multiple Stakes winner during his three-year-old season, Denman will stand the upcoming breeding season at Darley Kelvinside at a fee of $38,500 including GST.
