A confident ride and a typically honest effort by Order Again earned the son of Iffraaj his second Stakes win when he took out Saturday’s G3 Lord Mayor’s Cup at Eagle Farm.
Order Again had previously won the G3 Grand Prix Stakes at the corresponding race meeting in 2017 and had won two races in Brisbane in the intervening two years.
But the five-year-old had maintained his form and on Saturday was considered one of the better chances along with the runner-up Tom Melbourne who finished second for the 14th time in his career.
Order Again raced kindly throughout and ranged up to Tom Melbourne at the 150m mark, easily holding a 1-1/2 length advantage to the line.
Order Again is the second of three foals from the winning Van Nistelrooy mare Glass Half Full and is her only winner.
He is one of 68 Stakes winners for Iffraaj who will again stand the 2019 season under the Darley banner at Haunui Farm, NZ, at a fee of NZ$25,000, plus GST.
