Strat’s Flyer, a son of Strategic, rounded out the season in stylish fashion when winning the $100,000 Winter Stakes at Rosehill.
The five-year-old, who was bred by F J Kelly Trust out of the Hennessy mare Scot’s Flyer, won by two-and-a-quarter lengths to avenge for an unlucky run last time out in the Civic Stakes. This was the seventh victory of his career, including the Listed Takeover Target Stakes earlier in the season, and his earnings now stand at $434,500.
Strategic, who stands at Northwood Park at a fee of $16,500 (inc GST), is also sire of Group One winners Meurice and Strategic News along with recent Group winner Aichi and Desuetude.
