First Stakes win for Rightson

Facile three length victory for son of Strategic to become the 23rd Stakes winner for his sire

Strategic, one of the stalwarts of the Darley Australia roster, was provided with his 23rd individual Stakes winner on November 13, when the Barry Baldwin-trained Rightson sat up on the pace and careered away for a three length victory in the Listed All Hallows Handicap at Eagle Farm.

As honest as they come, Rightson has earned a prize money cheque at each of his last ten consecutive starts and was rewarded for that utter consistency with a dominant victory over the Eagle Farm mile.

Bred by Mr FA Coorey and Ms M L Johnson, Rightson is out of the Stakes performed Volcanic Prince mare Volcanic Mist. A full-brother to the G1 Galaxy Handicap winner Mistigec, Rightson is the winner of 10 starts and just shy of $500,000 in earnings for his connections.

The sire of G1-winning Champion two-year-old Meurice, Strategic (pictured) has been represented by three individual Stakes winners this season; Rightson, Illuminates and Haddle McDaddle.

One of the last sire sons of the recently deceased Newhaven Park-based Zeditave, Strategic is a record-breaking Champion sprinter that offers breeders an old-fashioned speed influence, while being a proven foil for international bloodlines.
