The demand for the stock of Brazen Beau resumed on day three of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale when his colt from Sistine Princess made $560,000.
Brazen Beau has been the sale topper almost since the sale began on Tuesday and his colt from Up In Lights, the fourth to enter the ring, fetched $800,000.
Consigned by Michael and Anna Flannery of Springmount Farm, this colt's sister was sold at the 2018 Inglis Premier Sale for $150,000 to Grant Morgan of Ontrack Thoroughbreds, who subsequently purchased and raced Brazen Beau.
Tuesday’s top offering went to the Hong Kong-based Orbis Bloodstock.
And like the first filly, this one is bred on the same cross, being from an O’Reilly mare.
Orbis representative Paul King said the organisation would be leaving with the horses it had come to buy, although his latest Brazen Beau colt had taken him over his limit.
“I had to get on the phone to the client, I’d reached my limit,” King said.
“So I had to make sure he was happy to keep going. He was.”
The colt will go to young Queensland trainer Michael Costa.
“We try and buy what we think is quality and hopefully Michael can pay us back when they hit the racetrack,” King said.
The Brazen Beau-Sistine Princess colt who is closely related to the Stakes winners Jukebox and Itsahymn, left the ring as the highest priced lot of the session.
