Nizam, a first-crop son of Pinatubo, struck on his first career start on Thursday, 10 October when running out a wide-margin winner at Saint-Cloud. Powering clear in the final 200m of the 1500m contest, he recorded a three-and-a-half victory for trainer Mario Baratti.
Owned and bred by Nurlan Bizakov, Nizam is the first foal of the G3 Musidora winner Nausha, who hails from the extended family of G1 winners Henrythenavigator and Magician.
Sire of 16 individual winners, Pinatubo has now sired four impressive scorers in France in the last four weeks after Al Jafara, Kirchner, and Tipinso. He is also the sire of three Stakes performers through Wolf Of Badenoch, Cavallo Bay and Qilin Queen. He is covering at a fee of $55,000 Inc. GST this season.
