Bold Bastille again displayed sustained speed when she led all the way at Caulfield on Saturday, 16 March to record her third Black-Type victory.
With Mark Zahra judging the pace perfectly, the daughter of Brazen Beau out of Chloe In Paris (Exceed And Excel) kicked clear in the home straight to beat Immortal Star by 1.75 lengths with Yes Lulu a head away in third place.
Two weeks after winning the Listed Furphy Trophy for two-year-old fillies over 1,000m at Flemington, Bold Bastille added the Redoute’s Choice Stakes (1,100m) to her win in the Restricted Listed Inglis Banner (1,000m) at Moonee Valley late last year.
Bold Bastille is trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes at Flemington and was bred by Des Pope in Victoria.
Blue Gum Farm at Euroa offered her at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale where she was bought by Lindsay Park Racing and Group 1 Bloodstock (FBAA) for $270,000.
With her Inglis Banner prize money excluded, Bold Bastille moved to 20th in the Golden Slipper order of entry with $218,050 but is unlikely to travel to Sydney even if she makes the field.
With prize money and bonuses, the filly has now banked $541,050 for connections.
Brazen Beau was a dual G1 winner on the track and has now sired 292 winners of 806 races, including 26 Stakes winners of 42 Stakes races.
The stallion stood at Northwood Park near Seymour in Victoria last season for a service fee of $44,000 (GST inclusive).
Brazen Beau had one lot sell at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne this month for $160,000 and has one filly entered for the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney on 7-8 April.
