Darley first-season sire Reset sired his third winner on June 3, when the impressive Hoddle scored by four lengths at Kyneton over 1100m (5.5f).
Racing in the colours of his unbeaten sire, Hoddle settled at the rear of the field before making a devastating run down the outside of the pack, always looking the winner once jockey Steven Arnold pulled the colt out wide.
Bred by Darley Australia and offered at the 2007 Magic Millions yearling sale, Hoddle was purchased by Nick Williams for $170,000, who races the talented youngster with his parents.
Hoddle is out of the Diesis mare Marple, who currently has a Reset weanling, and last spring was covered by Elusive Quality, the sire of last Saturday’s six-length winner, Cardinal Virtue.
Reset also has his first runners in Europe this season and has so far had one winner and a placed horse from six runners.
