Henry Plumptre, Darley Australia's stud director, is to become managing director following the recent announcement that Oliver Tait will relocate to the USA to head Darley's North American operations.
John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed's bloodstock advisor, said: "Henry has been an enormous influence on Darley in Australia since inception. He has a wealth of experience, an association with Darley that goes back a long way and I am delighted he has accepted the position."
Henry Plumptre said: "I am thrilled that Sheikh Mohammed has given me the opportunity to look after his stallion, racing and breeding operations here in Australia. Darley Australia has a very exciting future given our recent acquisition and the success of our stallions. It is a wonderful honour to help Sheikh Mohammed achieve his ambitions in Australia."
Plumptre's role will become effective from November 1, 2008.
