Rosehill’s Saturday card was all about Darley stallions, with a treble on the day for Commands, including Voice Commander’s win in the Listed race, and Country Reel's first winner Phenomenal Lass remaining unbeaten after her second start.
Voice Commander’s victory in the Listed De Bortoli Wines Festival Stakes marked the first Stakes win for his young trainer Nick Olive, who described the four-year-old as being ‘as tough as nails’. The winner, who next race is likely to be the Villiers Stakes at Randwick, is out of the Magic Ring mare Voice Mail.
Two other four-year-olds completed the treble. Clothing continued to show improvement with a good strike in the 1200m handicap while Black Prince was also on the top of his form, winning over 1100m.
Phenomenal Lass is looking every bit well-named as she stepped up on an impressive debut to score again, this time by two-and-a-quarter lengths in the 1100m handicap for two-year-olds. She is out of the Canny Lad mare Phenomenal.
Reset, who currently heads the second-crop sires’s table, saw his great run continued with a two-year-old winner, Musigny, at Cheltenham.
